A beautiful face is incomplete without a healthy, shiny and bouncy mane of healthy hair. It is equally important to take care of the hair, especially as it is the most ill treated part of the body. The amount of torture hair has to go through is tremendous. Styling products, hot irons and rollers, highlights, coloring, blow-drying… the list is endless. No wonder most women complain of lack of glamour as their hair is concerned.
It is not easy to be the proud owner of a beautiful healthy mane. It requires a lot of care and pampering. Hair needs as much if not more care than the face and your skin. This does not mean you need to use expensive professional treatments but rather that the hair needs a lot of nutrition and most of it is easily available at home.
It is true that care requires a little time and commitment on your part but keep in mind: patience and time are the makers of beautiful hair.
One cannot have healthy hair if the scalp is facing problems. A healthy scalp will give shoot to healthy hair. It you have oily hair; use a cotton ball damped with witch hazel, to dap your hairline and hair partings.
Rinse with cool water. If you have flakes, try adding tea tree oil (five drops) to the regular shampoo. Avoid conditioners, as the scalp may feel sensitive. If the need be use a detangling product only on the hair ends.
Volume giving masks
Try this easy home made hair mask to bring back life and volume to your hair. Mix ½ cup honey, 1 egg yolk, the pulp of 2 small avocados (ripe) and 2 Tbsp of olive oil in a bowl. Apply this mixture thoroughly onto the hair and on the head and let it to set for an hour or two. Use your regular shampoo and conditioner to wash the mask off but avoid warm water.
Condition hair thoroughly, using natural jojoba or olive oil masks. Use about a quarter cup or more of natural oils to thoroughly mask the hair, starting root upwards. Leave it in the hair for an hour and then shampoo as usual.
You can use multiple homemade hair-masks that will help you take good care of your crowning glory. They help nourish, give body and shine and repair damage.
Pamper your hair with natural ingredients
Simple masks like Coconut cream and eggs can revitalize your hair. Massage in the coconut cream and wrap hair with a warm towel. Shampoo only after an hour or so.
You can do the same with two beaten eggs. Remember to use egg on clean hair and wash it out after 15 minutes.
You love banana smoothies, and so does your hair. Whisk in a banana with a full egg, three tablespoons of both honey and milk along with five tablespoons of natural olive oil. Mix well and apply thoroughly. Wash out after 15-30 minutes. These nourishing masks will bring back life to the hair.
A ripe banana combined with a few drops of natural almond oil will help rejuvenate damaged and dry hair. ½ cup of full cream milk mixed with a tbsp of honey will also do the trick.
If you are fighting dandruff, a fenugreek mask is the best bet. Soak a fistful of fenugreek seeds overnight with just enough water to cover them. In the morning, grind it to make a paste. Apply the paste into your hair and wash after 15-30 minutes.
