Cold Season Care for Dry Cracked Heels

After the lovely summer with its vacation time filled with sun, sea and running on the beach, come fall and winter with beauty issues that need to be addressed with care. With the cold season starting there is increasing need to look after the beauty of our skin. The fall and winter temperature is doing a lot of damage to our beauty and painful and unaesthetic cracked heels are among the many issues we face.

Cracked Heels Causes and Manifestation

Dry, cracked and painful heels know no age boundary. They are usually caused by impropermoisturizing and care. During the cold season heels become extremely dry because of the exposure to cold, uncomfortable footwear and lack of air circulation.

Cracked heels bring peeling skin, flaky areas, red itching and pain. Bleeding may also occur if the matter is not addressed very soon.

Banana Mask for your Feet

Bananas are rich in potassium and act as a hydrating mask for your cracked heels. Mash a banana and spread the puree on your cracked heels. Let the mask on for 15 minutes and rinse your feet. Put the heels for 2 minutes in cold water. Repeat every day during a week for amazing results.

Honey and Apple Vinegar

Honey and Apple Vinegar

Mix honey with apple vinegar, add rice flour just enough to make a paste. Add a few drops of olive oil. Use the mixture as a scrub for cracked heels. Rinse with lukewarm water. As a result the skin will look soft and properly moisturized.

The acidic content of the lemon juice causes a mild but proper exfoliation in the case of rough flaky skin. Simply rub the area with a cotton bud dipped in lemon juice or add some lemon juice to warm water and soak your feet in the mixture. You can remove the dead skin with the help of purnice stone.

Rose Water and Glycerin

Glycerin can be combined with rose water and used as a balm. The mixture is applied on the cracked heels every night for 2 weeks. Wear some socks after applying the treatment to enhance the effect.

You can also combine glycerin with lemon juice, sea salt and rosewater and add the mixture to a warm water foot bath. Soak your feet in the mixture and use purnice stone to remove the flaky skin. Add a layer of glycerin on the dried skin and wear some socks during your sleep. This remedy works well in case the problem is not very severe.
