Winter takes its toll on our beauty and if you take good care of your complexion you should not forget about your hands either.
Beeswax, Lavender, Shea Butter
These simple ingredients combined with primrose oil can make a highly nutritious hand mask. Mix eight tablespoons of shea butter with a few drops of lavender oil, add the same amount of primrose oil and half of this quantity of beeswax. Mix well to combine the ingredients and let it set until it hardens.
Salt, Olive Oil and Lemon Juice Exfoliation
In order to get rid of the dry, flaky aspect of the skin, keep the skin hydrated, moist and rejuvenated consider a mild scrub from five tablespoons of sea salt, the freshly squeezed juice from a lemon or lime and a tablespoon of olive oil. Mix the ingredients and spread over your hands rubbing the skin gently.
Olive Oil and Sugar
For soft hands and locked in moisture consider a two steps treatment. First mix one tablespoon of olive oil with the same amount of sugar and put aside. Then add a bit of coconut oil to a bowl filled with warm water. Soak your hands in this mixture for a few minutes and then gently tap the extra water from your hands. Next spread the sugar and oil mixture on your hands and rub your hands gently. Rinse with lukewarm water and finish with a moisturizing hand cream.
This tasty dish can be a very effective homemade hand treatment. Boil 2 potatoes and mash them adding some milk until you obtain a creamy texture. Spread it on your hands and let it set until it cools. Rinse with water and hydrate with hand lotion.
Essential Oils, Avocado and Honey
For a nutritious and rejuvenating mask you can use a ripe avocado mashed and mixed with 2 tablespoons of honey. Add a few drops of sandalwood and myrrh oils, 2 tablespoons of yoghurt and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Spread on the hands and wrap your hands in a towel or in a plastic bag for 15 minutes.
Paraffin Peel Off
For a deep conditioning effect you can use melted paraffin wax. Mix in the melted wax some orange blossom or lavender oil. Wash your hands and rub them with some coconut oil. Next dip each hand until fully covered in melted paraffin. Let it set for a few minutes and repeat the operation. Ask somebody to help you put each hand inside a plastic bag and let the mask set for 30 minutes. Then simply peel off the paraffin mask and gently massage your hands.
