It is a brand new year and trend gurus and fashionistas alike are busy gauging the trends that are likely to make it big this spring / summer of 2012. We look at what the trend spotters have to say about the hair and makeup trends for 2012:
This is London is calling it ‘Bare Faced Chic’, a prediction that the natural ‘nude’ look is going to rule this coming season. The idea is that less is more and fresh faced look is in, in a big way.
The nude look is all the rage even on the catwalks where designers such as Burberry Prorsum, Versace, Balmain and Marc Jacobs and even Oscar de la Renta and Ralph Lauren have shown favor for the look.
The catch of course is that the bid to look effortless requires a lot of effort, so it is back to skin care basics here. The top priority is to have healthy glowing skin in the first place without which the natural look can be difficult to pull off.
Experts recommend a deep cleaning, exfoliating facial for this, followed by regular use of a good quality eye-cream and exfoliation twice a week and resurfacing mask once a week.
To match the au naturel make up look predicted for this season, natural beauty, minimalism and easy elegance will characterize the hot new hair trends for spring 2012 according to Harpers Bazaar. The sporty look is going to be big say the predictions, as though one has just stepped in from the outdoors or come away from the beach.
Shiny hair, glistening and bouncing with good health will never go out of fashion and this is the look hairstylist Guido has made popular with a clever use of argan oil for added gloss. The tousled, carefree look also makes a return this year. The damp look seems to be everywhere, either the damp at the tips or damp at the roots look; but that fresh out of the shower look is likely to be popular.
The ponytail is making another come back, this time in a straight, low and flat avatar; looking damp and slicked back to accentuate the facial features. A variation of this could be the pony bun with some hair left loose out of an up-do.
So all that you need for this year’s casual chic look is a rough, blow dry, just a hint of a curl using a hot iron and then a raking through with the fingers for a carefree, easy look.
