The New York Times put together a ready reckoner for new cosmetic products that are now out in the market. Here is what caught their fancy –
- Purr is the new celebrity fragrance from Katy Perry. Having top notes of citrus, blended with apple, peach nectar and green bamboo, this one has added hits of pink freesia, jasmine blossom, Bulgarian rose, vanilla orchid, sandalwood, white amber and musk.
- We don’t usually associate spectacle lenses with beauty products, but really we should; they stay on our face for so long! Austrian company Silhouette who produce rimless glasses, along with designer Benetti wants that as much of the face as possible should be seen when you wear glasses. They have put up a ‘Virtual Mirror’ on their website as well as an iPhone app for those who want to try (different looks) before they buy.
- Vichy’s new Aqualia Eye Roll-On is for those of us who are suffering from the ill effects of the dry heating of the indoors, that cause dry skin and puffy eyes each morning. The product has ingredients such as escin (an extract from horse chestnut) and dextran sulphate, which are known to reduce inflammation and a unique, cool metal ball applicator.
