Who says you need to spend oodles of cash at a spa in order to enjoy a facial?
With a few simple items and some free time, you can enjoy the benefits of a spa facial in your very own bathroom. [Home Spa]
Let’s get you started on your way to beautiful skin.
What You’ll Need
- Facial cleansers (whichever you normally use or one formulated for your skin type)
- Toner (again, whichever you normally use or one made for your type of skin)
- A mask (mud, exfoliating – whatever you like)
- A facial buffer/exfoliator
- A bowl of HOT water
How to Do It?
Step 1: Cleanse your skin using your preferred cleanser. Apply the cleanser and in a circular motion, work it into the skin gently making sure to get your entire face all the way to the hairline, your neck all the way down to your collarbone and pay special attention to the forehead as we tend to retain a lot of oil there. Rinse well and then pat the skin dry—don’t rub.
Step 2: If you have a facial steamer, then of course use it, but if not, then placing a towel over your head as you lean over the bowl or sink of hot water will do just fine.
Hold it there for a couple of minutes and then use a damp face cloth to wipe your skin.
Step 3: Use your facial buffer or exfoliating cream by applying it gently to the skin, again using a circular motion. Be sure to get your face and neck while avoiding your eyes.
Rinse thoroughly. You can use a damp face cloth to go over the skin to pick up anything that may be left behind.
Step 4: Apply your mask and let it stay on the skin as directed on the packaging. Once finished, rinse gently but thoroughly to be sure that there is nothing left on the skin.
Step 5: It’s toner time! This by far feels better than any of the other steps because it is refreshing and really smoothes out the skin. Apply the toner using a cotton ball or pad and always avoid the eyes.
Step 6: Moisturize and marvel at how soft and incredible your skin feels! Apply a small amount to your finger tips and massage over the skin to hold in moisture and make your skin feel like it never has.
Your skin care products need not be high end if you can’t afford them. There are some very good drugstore facial products that work extremely well and can really do the trick without breaking the bank!
