High Percentage Of People Think They Need A Lift

So, we can’t all look like Helen of Troy, with ‘a face to launch 1000 ships’…or can we? Doctors have been performing face lifts (or Rhytidectomy) for years, with more than a few success stories. There are also the notable failures, and we know about those, don’t we? As an alternative to BTX-A, facelift is a surgical procedure. Yes, that means actual surgery.
Cosmetic surgery has come a long way, and, certainly, it is safer and more successful than it used to be. However, there are risks and before you decide that an actual facelift is what you want, you should do some research.
Many people are willing and eager to accept the risks for the chance to look the way they want. After all, when we are born, we don’t get to choose whether our nose is too big or our eyes too sunken.
When we are finally old enough to do something about it, it seems perfectly natural to fix what we can, right? Unlike BTX-A, a facelift is permanent, unless you have more than one, and until the natural aging process inevitably takes over again.
This procedure can reduce facial wrinkles, eliminate the telltale signs of aging and improve the appearance of your face and jaw (got jowls?). You should know, as with any invasive surgery, there are risks. The road to a more beautiful you will not be an easy or painless one should you choose this particular cosmetic surgery procedure.
You should expect some scarring, although with a very good doctor, scars should be minimal. You might also experience complications during or after your surgery. Some of these are nerve damage, numbness or tingling, crusting of the incision site and skin discoloration, although they are reported to be temporary.
Your recovery time after a facelift surgery varies according to what type of procedure you choose (there are several options) and can be anywhere from 2 days to several weeks.
Some procedures will have you knocking their socks off after just one weekend, while with others, you may have to use up all that vacation time you’ve been saving. Immediately after your procedure, you should expect to feel some pain, although it should be minor, and your doctor may give you a prescription to ease your discomfort. You will be swollen and bruised as well, and this may take several weeks to subside. You will, however, notice improvement (bruises fading, swelling going down) each day following your surgery.
This particular cosmetic surgery is not for the faint of heart, and a doctor will ultimately decide if you are a suitable candidate for the procedure. You should also be aware that a facelift is slightly more expensive than a BTX-A injection.
The average price (depending on locale and the cosmetic plastic surgeon you choose) ranges from £4,000 to as much as £25,000, and that is before they add in facility fees, anaesthesiologist fees, and more. As for the benefits, a properly executed facelift is unparalleled in the way it turns back the clock and makes a younger, more beautiful you.
